4 Mar
Conservatories in Brighton are available to add a room that can bring the outdoors inside as well as keep things a bit green. Many people enjoy conservatories as they create a room that can be used all year round. Before you pull out all the stops to have a conservatory built realize that these are one of the moist expensive home additions you can have so you need to plan accordingly.
Conservatories come in all sizes and designed and there are many different types of choose from. One popular design is a conservatory in the Edwardian style. This era came directly after Queen Victoria and was a dramatic style change. The main focuses of this style is subdued lines, less ornamentation, lightness and space. King Edward ruled for a short time at the beginning of the 1900s.
Edwardian conservatories are very symmetrical as they are built as a square or rectangle. As much glass as possible is used and there is little to no detailing or ornamentation. The main purpose of this design is to be able to see as much of the exterior as possible. The one feature that is similar to the previous era is the roof which has ridges that look like a crown and the roof tends to be pitched.
Edwardian conservatories are built as a rectangle and squares in order to get as much view of the outdoors as possible. The glass and windows will not have any ornamentation and details for clear views. The sides will be flat and the roof tends to be pitched. Many times the roof will have ridges that tend to resemble a crown.
On e of the main advantages to having a conservatory built in the Edwardian style is that it maximizes space and is very symmetrical. While you maximize space you also create an excellent illusion of having even more space. Pitched glass on the ceiling allows for a lot of natural light and the lack of details on the walls means that you can easily see your surroundings.
You can even go completely in the style and chose furnishings from that era as well so making sure you keep a light and airy feeling to the space. Much of the furniture can be of wicker and pastel colors tended to be used frequently.
